Admissions

Includes same-day admission to the Memorial Museum, Walker Education Center and all historic houses and outdoor sites. There is no extra charge for entrance to special exhibitions.

Children (5 and under): Free

SHSU Students with ID: Free

Sundown at Sam’s ~ Live Music Series

Spring 2025 dates to be announced.

The grounds at the Sam Houston Memorial Museum & Republic of Texas Presidential Library will come alive three evenings this spring with live music from local artists. The music will get underway at 6:15 p.m. each evening. Learn more here.

Gail Ryder on Stage with audience Stage: Is located on the museum grounds between the Steamboat House and Wigwam Neosho Museum Store.
Admission: Free
Food/drinks: You are more than welcome to bring your own snacks and coolers, however no outside alcohol or glass bottles are allowed. Food and soft drinks will be available to purchase each night and adult beverages will be offered for purchase as well.
  • C.A.T. Cafe and Tap Truck Outlaws will be joining us all three nights. Tap Truck will have alcoholic beverages for sale. NO outside alcohol will be allowed. Delmy's Pupusas will be here April 18 and May 16. Bennie J's Smokepit will join us on May 2.
    Seating: Chairs and blankets are encouraged.
    Parking: Will be available at the Katy & E. Don Walker, Sr. Education Center, located at 1402 19th Street. Limited parking will be available on the grounds; only access will be from Sam Houston Avenue. After 5 p.m., parking is available on 19th Street on the museum side of the street.
    Bathrooms: The Wigwam Neosho Museum Store, located next to the stage, will be open during the event for public restrooms.
    Rain site: In case of inclement weather, the music will be moved inside to the museum’s auditorium located in the Katy & E. Don Walker, Sr. Education Center at 1402 19th Street.
