About Us

The Sam Houston Memorial Museum has been in existence since 1936 when it was created as a Texas Centennial Museum by the State of Texas.

The property's history began long before 1936, when Sam Houston purchased the property in 1847.

Today, the fifteen acre complex is a bridge to the past, sharing Sam Houston's legacy and the history of the property!
