Admission includes self-guided, same day access to the Sam Houston Memorial Museum and the exhibit gallery at the Katy & E. Don Walker, Sr. Education Center. Guided group tours need to be made by reservation ahead of time with our education department and have different admission prices.

The museum comples is spread out over fifteen acres, and there are three locations you can check-in, pay admission, and grab a map:
- Sam Houston Memorial Museum (1836 Sam Houston Avenue)
- Wigwam Neosho Museum Store (located in the center of the museum grounds next to the Steamboat House)
- Katy & E. Don Walker, Sr. Education Center (1402 19th Street)
Location
The Sam Houston Memorial Museum and Republic of Texas Presidential Library is located on the corner of Sam Houston Avenue and 19th Street in Huntsville, Texas directly across from the Sam Houston State University Campus.

Directions & Parking
We have several parking areas on our fifteen acres. Limited parking is available at the Sam Houston Memorial Museum (1836 Sam Houston Avenue) and the Wigwam Neosho Museum Store. There is ample parking at the Katy & E. Don Walker, Sr. Education Center (1402 19th Street). Park in the designated "Museum Visitor Parking" spots. Bus and RV parking is also available at the Walker Education Center.

We offer group tours for public, private, and homeschool groups as well as organizations of all kinds.
Additional Information
While we will always stive to make the museum complex completely accessible, please keep in mind we are an outdoor historic site, and it can be challenging to get around due to weather related events.
We are spread out over fifteen acres which requires some walking.
Wheelchair accessible entrances are available at the Sam Houston Memorial Museum, the Wigwam Neosho Museum Store, and the Katy & E. Don Walker, Sr. Education Center.
Elevators are provided at the Sam Houston Memorial Museum and the Katy & E. Don Walker, Sr. Education Center.
Ramps allow ground floor access to the historic homes and buildings.
Exhibits currently have no audio, but information panels are available.
Trained service animals are welcome inside the buildings.
The museum grounds are open from dawn to dusk seven days a week for the public to enjoy mother nature. There are picnic tables scattered throughout for visitors to enjoy a picnic, study, and relax.

The museum grounds has a variety of animals that call it home such as ducks, chickens, cats, turtles, and more. We ask the public to not harrass or try to handle the animals.
If you see a hurt animal on the museum grounds, please report by calling the museum's mainline at 936.294.1832.
Dogs must be on a leash at all times when on the museum grounds.
While there is no fee for photographers to have sessions on our grounds, we do ask that you call ahead to make sure we do not have a conflicting event occurring.
