Admissions

Includes same-day admission to the Memorial Museum, Walker Education Center and all historic houses and outdoor sites. There is no extra charge for entrance to special exhibitions.

Adults: $6.00

Seniors (65 and older): $5.00

SHSU Faculty/Staff: $4.00

Children (6-18): $4.00

Children (5 and under): Free

SHSU Students with ID: Free

Veterans: Free

Whether hosting a corporate event, wedding or retreat, there is no place more distinctive and unique than the Sam Houston Memorial Museum. Our museum event staff will ensure that no matter the occasion, it is a memorable one.

Our Venues

Katy & E. Don Walker, Sr. Educational Center

The facility was built a part of the Gen. Sam Houston Bicentennial Celebration in honor of Gen. Sam Houston's 200th birthday on March 2, 1993.  The 22,000 square foot center is located at 1402 19th Street on the southwest corner of the museum grounds, west of the Sam Houston State University campus.

The Walker Education Center can accommodate any party size with four meeting rooms, an auditorium, a library, Texas History library, and a large atrium. 

W.S. Gibbs Conference Hall

Located on the lower lever of the Walker Education Center, the W. S. Gibbs Conference Hall is perfect for business meetings, receptions, dinners and large gatherings. This area contains 4,300 square feet, which can accommodate 250-300 people and can be divided to accommodate small groups. In addition, a large prep kitchen is available.
